What is the Endocannabinoid System?
Did you know that all mammals are naturally wired with Endocannabinoid receptors? These receptors are part of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which a vital mechanism that is active before birth and throughout the duration of our lives. This biological system is composed of endocannabinoids (endogenous lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters) that bind to the cannabinoid receptors and cannabinoid receptor proteins.
To simplify, imagine a lock and key, allowing pathways for the body to properly communicate and defend against illness. These receptors are located throughout the body and maintain balance on a cellular level, promoting overall health.
The body is a miracle machine designed to self-heal, if we give it the right fuel. It is naturally creating these endocannabinoids, however, most people are deficient and require additional support. The Endocannabinoid system is also involved in physiological processes including appetite, sensation, mood, and memory. Deficiency of these molecules may lead to a variety of diseases that manifest in many ways.
Ingesting cannabinoids, such as Full Spectrum CBD, can offer additional support, relieve symptoms, and help to up-regulate the Endocannabinoid system. This allows the body to live at maximum efficiency in optimal health.
